Join us this month as we highlight Community Action, spread awareness, celebrate a rich history, and press onward in our mission.

Community Action of Southeast Iowa has been helping people and changing lives for 59 years!

In fiscal year 2024 we served 14,026 individuals; that’s 14% of the population in Des Moines, Lee, Henry, and Louisa Counties.

Our mission: We are dedicated to alleviating the conditions and causes of poverty by building partnerships and strengthening people through quality services.

Our vision is for people in southeast Iowa to have the opportunity to reach their maximum potential.

• Join our staff at in person events open to all.
  • We’ll be in each county at least twice during the month.

  • Community Basket Tickets with the Burlington Bees
• Dress up with us on Tuesdays! Send us a picture!
  • 5/6 – Community Action Swag and/or Wear Maroon.
  • 5/13 – Birthday Gear: Pins, sashes, tiara, shirts, hats, etc. Celebrating Head Start’s 60th Birthday!
  • 5/20 – Black Out: Wear all black.
  • 5/27 – Beach Day: Tropical prints, beach hats, sunglasses, etc.
