Day of the Child celebrates children and families in our community! Local agencies and organizations provide free activities and information.
2026 was the 34th annual event!
What a great day! Thanks to everyone who celebrated children and families with us at Day of the Child 2026! 300+ people came out for the day with Jim’s active concert, lots of laughs, smiles, family interactions, giveaways, activities, books, learning, resources, and more! 86% of families that took the exit survey said they learned about a new resource.
The committee is looking forward to planning the 35th annual event in 2027!

2026 Tabling: If you would like to have a table at the event, please complete and return the Registration Forms and payment. Details here.
This a free event for families that welcomes the entire community!
Day of the Child is an annual event that brings families together for an afternoon of fun activities, education, and community information. 25+ agencies and organizations set up booths throughout the mall. Each booth displays available resources and free, fun activities, games, arts, or crafts for children and their families to engage in.

In the past the Lion’s Clubs have provide free vision screenings, the Shriner’s Clubs have provided comprehensive child I.D.s, SEIA Child Passenger Safety has provided car seat safety checks and information, there have been arts, crafts, games, paint tattoos, and more!

A few things from the 2023 Day of the Child event:
- “Book Adventures: Born to Read, Think, and Imagine!” was our theme in 2023.
- 2023 was our 32nd year of Day of the Child and our first year back after a 2 year break due to COVID.
