Early Head Start Teacher I Maintain confidentiality. Plan and implement activities as outlined in Head Start Performance Standards and other Agency documents. Develop a respectful, supportive, trusting relationship with each family, assisting them in meeting their own needs and planning for their child’s optimal growth. Read and be familiar with Early Head Start/Head Start regulatory standards and interpret the program philosophy to families and the community. Coordinate with Lead Teacher to make at least one home visit a year per child and schedule/hold two parent/teacher conferences to discuss their child’s progress and development. Maintain ongoing communication with parents through written and verbal means. Receptionist Answer incoming telephone calls on a multi-line phone system, determine callers’ purpose(s), and forward calls to appropriate personnel or departments. Answer questions about the Agency and assist callers with addresses, directions, and other information, logging calls when information or referrals are given. Accurately take and deliver messages for staff members. Welcome visitors to the site. Identify the nature of their business and inform the appropriate personnel about their arrival. Enter information into the Agency client tracking system. Assist with the food pantry (requires lifting and carrying groceries), unloading the truck, and organizing food donations. Head Start Lead Teacher Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities as outlined in the Head Start Performance Standards and other Agency documents. Plan, coordinate and implement field trip activities with Education Services Manager, Education Coordinators and Family Development Specialists. Develop a respectful, supportive, trusting relationship with each family, assisting them in meeting their own needs and planning for their child’s optimal growth. Assist in maintaining bus routes with the transportation staff; inform families and teaching staff schedule arrival and departure times. Read and be familiar with Head Start regulatory standards and interpret the program philosophy to families and the community. Make at least two home visits a year per child and schedule/hold two parent/teacher conferences to discuss their child’s progress and development. Nutritionist Function as the competent professional authority for determination of program eligibility and certification; following assessment of individual anthropometric, biochemical, and dietary data, either certify or deny participation in the program on the basis of nutritional risk. Work as part of the team to coordinate and ensure nutrition education for all participants, both on an individual and group basis; monitor all materials used in the education program; ensure that all WIC participants receive at least two nutrition education contacts per certification period; document education received into participant records; and provide in-depth individual nutrition counseling as needed or requested by a participant. Work as part of the team to serve as the staff person qualified to provide program nutrition information to interested professionals, outside agencies, organizations, and individuals. | $22.30 Part time benefits | Muscatine | 24 | Open |
