Community Action Month – May 2026

We’ll be highlighting Community Action and spreading awareness as we press onward in our mission: We are dedicated to alleviating the conditions and causes of poverty by building partnerships and strengthening people through quality services.

  • Join us at one of these events
    • Monday, May 11th at noon for Des Moines County Inter-Agency at the Burlington Public Library where helping groups gather to share information and we’ll present on Community Action.
    • Wednesday, May 13thfor a Poverty Simulation from 1-4:30pm at Lee County Economic Development. Free, but registration is required: https://caofseia.org/resources/poverty-simulation/
    • Thursday, May 14th at 2:30 pm for a presentation on area poverty and Community Action geared towards those 55+ held at Heart Song in Burlington.
